Question Deletion of thread

Having posted a thread and got the answers I was looking for s it possible to delete the original thread to stop your site becoming overloaded with similar questions??

Yes, it's possible, although it's not something that would normally be done. The idea is that other people might search the forum before asking to see if their question has already been answered (although in reality this rarely happens).

There may be other, useful, information in the thread that is worth 'saving' (as it were) and people often don't want/like their posts being deleted.

Another thing that may affect some users is that post (or thread) deletion affects your post count. For some users the post count is important.
