It just gets worse & worse, there are at least two threads on the subject now and still noone at the top will state what the rules are, such as file sizes etc etc

When will Ben get his Brain in gear? Was it last thursday, which was probably November? Or some other planet. The website seems to have been launched with nothing but advertising in the magazine. The Mag staff don't seem to know anything about it (and, tbh, neither do the website staff).

You know as much as the rest of us who have been asking the question for ages - still at least the rest of us know what day it is which is more than anyone in charge seems to know.

Hi there,
Once again sorry for the frustration you're having. We are working towards getting the 'Your Mission' fully integrated into the site and hope that this will happen in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime please e mail your submissions to us as indicated earlier in this thread.
Send us jpg files that are 2 MB or less, if your image is successful we will send you an e mail requesting the high-res. You can send us as many images as you want.
Kind regards,
Ben

I received my Autumn edition, round about 15th October, and have just looked in here for a Your Mission- Seasonal Colour. Have I just lost the thread?

The missions aspect is really quite simple...you only need the forum thread for the e-mail add....you can enter as many images as you want, below 2 meg. Just simply add the current mission name in the subject field of your e-mail.

I agree with RedRovers' post...the true meaning of photography has been lost. Photography translates as "to draw with light"...not to manipulate, change and distort with Photoshop and Elements. Which brings me to my next point..every month we get a free disc with photo workshops...fine if you have Photoshop...what about the rest of us who only use the basic stuff to fine tune our images?

I love the mag but at times I get so frustrated with it as it comes across elitest.....I use the fuji finepix s200exr...my portfolio is here...but it seems only those who have £1000+ cameras and of course Photoshop get a mention/showcase..........

ok. i'm gonna send my pictures to digitalcamera@futurenet.com, with the subject line: Seasonal Colours (current mission). 2mb or less jpg images. got it.
i like the old website for this, it's less confusing. why not just put a little panel on the Home page about you mission that kinda look like of that on the magazine, with the instruction "how to send your Photos" it'll be helpful. alot helpful!

It`s an old debate that splits the readership biut in the days before photoshop and the rest dodging and burning and a whole range of darkroom tricks were done by the main photographers praised for catching the light. Were they cheating too? As for software a number of people put up images on here / elsewhere using GIMP and other such free software, download trials and elemts which is cheaper and odes much of what photoshop does. At the end of the day it`s how people want their images to look and what they want to do to get there. I vary from straightout of the camera to simple tweaks to "messing around in software" to the level can do somethign - which is low in my case but am in awe of those that master it and produce a masterpiece through whatever means.
