I would like to submit for the mission for the first time.

Could someone tell me what dimensions / file size is preferred for email submissions? I don't wish to annoy with too big a file size!!

Thanks,
Lisa

Further to the 'mission' query where do I find the rules and file size etc requirements, can I enter from abroad etc etc Lisa asked a similar question but I cannot see a link to the info.
Thanks
Dave

Sorry but It all seems to be a rushed job to introduce a confusing new mag a with silly title at the expense of a properly thought out site, what was wrong with DCM in the first place?

As Ben said:

This month's mission is 'Trees'. Send us your best tree shots for a chance to win a Lowepro Flipside 400AW worth £120. Images must be received by 25th September 2009.

Hi there,

I’m sorry that there appears to be some confusion over the Mission.
To clarify:
Everyone month we have a themed competition the results of which are published two issues ahead, i.e the current mission is Late Summer Landscape (announced in issue 90) the closing date is 23rd October (today)

Hi Ben - I`ll have a pint of what you have been drinking. Maybe your posts are the reason for confusion as you seem to be mixing your months up. I assume the landscapes mission deadline was actually 23rd September and not October and that the Trees submission deadline is 25th October and not September - otherwise it mkaes no sense.
And can someone advise on file sizes as requested above - cheers

The mag def advised submissions via the forums and Ben you need to sell what your on mate it obviously has the desired effect. I take it the dates you posted are wrong? Either that or the stuff i'm drinking is stronger than I thought

I agree, I only bought the DC mag this past weekend because I'm a keen amateur photographer but although I have no where near a good enough camera like the ones you guys and the mag guys advise for I do find it encouraging when I see other peoples work etc and I was looking forward to see how my shots stood up against more experienced photographers for this months mission as I have one favourite shot of a tree which is perfect. But if this is the way it is run, via a forum, with a guy who doesn't seem be to quite sure what he's talking about well then I might try a different magazine instead. I'm suprised the DC mag doesn't have it's own website or something as they are quite simple to get and make these days.

I think the accent is now on computing, manipulation and aspiring website people-the actual art of photography has been lost, you have to decipher the site and have photoshop forget anything else.
