Smile Your Mission 111: Spring colours

This month's mission is all about capturing the colours of spring. Whether it's an isolated petal or a landscape full of flowers in full bloom, we're looking for an image in which seasonal colour is the key ingredient.

Of course, spring colour is a well-worn theme, so as always, the more original the image, the more likely it is to be considered for our coveted number one spot. There are any number of techniques you can use to ensure your shots stand out, from backlighting to motion blur, so if you're short of inspiration, this is a good a place to start as any.

- Don't assume colour has to be the dominant feature.
- Similarly, don't assume flowers have to be the focus - as long as the image conveys a sense of spring, buds, leaves and ferns are all fair game.
- Finally, don't be afraid to crop right in using a long lens, a macro lens or even an extension tube.

To be in with a chance of winning a Lowepro Flipside 400 AW you will need to:

Create a gallery on PhotoRadar, upload your entry and email the link to digitalcamera@futurenet.com with 'Your Mission: Spring Colour' in the subject line by 5 May 2011. The three best shots will be printed in Issue 113, on sale 31 May 2011. A selection of the best shots will appear on the website.

You didn't get a response Steve, or did you get a PM? If you get the answer can you let me know?

No, no response yet Chris. Amy doesn't appear to have been on line for a few days so I suspect that she is having an Easter break. No hurry, I can get the images in in quick time if we are allowed more than one entry and I have shot another cracker this morning.

I am on holiday yes, but my dedication to you knows no bounds and have popped on here to tell you that you can enter as many as you like... just make sure you include links to each photo (or folder) and make it clear that you're entering more than one =)

Good luck, back on Tuesday!
