Great capture Mark, not a sight many people have ever seen.

Was this a planned shoot to capture seals or were in the right place at the right time but for a different reason?

Hope the seal has strong teeth, as they take some chewing even when cooked.

Cracking shot and well spotted.

Rbarry this was a lucky shot. We very rarely get seals in our local river I was down shooting images of Eiders when this one appeared not far off the quayside. I watched it eating several flatfish before taking some pics I thought this was another fish until I reviewed the images on the screen and discovered an octopus! Complete surprise as I never knew we had octopus in this area.

Well congratulations once again, you got the shot because you were there and you had the means to share your experience. For those that remain "unlucky"; you have to get out to put yourself in a "lucky" position.

Well done mark.

brilliant action shot of an animal in it's habitat. It's such an unusual shot I'd be tempted to hawk this around the wildlife publications.

Great idea and is surely worth asking the question.

How amazing would it be to see your own personal shot like that in print

An amazing shot. More so considering it was just a lucky capture.
