I once lost a lens cap one day them, went back the next day and found it!

Yes, nice gesture but a very very long shot.

Nice gesture Tony. Good luck with your search.

I once lost a monopod in a country park. Went back to where I'd left it within 10 minutes and it had gone. Left my details at the shop on site but no-one ever handed it in so I think that what you are doing is really superb.

Well I lost my 77mm Kood polariser somewhere between the cafe and the car park / either side of the stepping stones on 4th March. Re-tracing my steps briefly brought no joy. If it was the one you found it would be a miracle. I would not mind but I ended up taking no shots with it or even my camera as the rain set in and the camera bag was proving too heavy for my recuperative day out after recovering from surgery. Why do we bother sometimes eh

On a positive note I left my monopod on a bar seat in a central square in Leeds and ran back for it 20 minutes later to find a couple guarding it for me and even better I left a camera bag under a bar table in a rough pub in Gateshead (too sacred to leave it in the boot!!!). Got back to the pub 35 minutes later to find the bag had been hnaded in in tact with over £1200 of equipment in it. Both within a month of each other couple of years back - never done it again as the heart would not take it!

Jinky, it sounds like you need to keep your camera bag tied to you! I do not like leaving mine in the car either so I understand taking it with you even if you do not plan to use it.

That`s more or less what I do now - it has not happened again since.
