I should have. In an increasingly cynical world, I sometimes forget that there are still more decent folk than 'nasties,' simply because the good ones blend into the background and the others always get the attention.

That is so true. Often it is hard to remember that.

I've learned that the national language of the Philippines is Tagalog:

Hello Peejterrado25,

Absolutely nothing, fine nation of friendly people. I just find it hard to understand most of the language, although it transpires that it shares a common trait with Tagalog in that some words in a welsh sentence will revert to the English language.

This should be taken with a pinch of salt, but it illustrates my previous comment "it's all Welsh to me". As an aside, any language that adopts the word "pipity pong" for a microwave oven has my vote.

However, having spent the last three weeks in South Wales, not many people speak or understand the Welsh language down there either! It seems more people in North Wales speak Welsh than in the south.

I live near to the City of Chester, an English Welsh border city. There is an old bye law that allows an Englishman to shoot a Welshman with an arrrow if they are found to be within the city walls after 10 o'clock at night. This is not a very friendly attitude and I for one have never taken that option!
