Question a Very Important Question

Hello,

I'm looking for a SLR Camera that has this features:
  1. can record video
  2. at least 3 Megapixel
  3. changeable focus while recording video (the focus can be changed manually when we record a video, I had a very basic camera that I could only tweak it's focus while I wasn't recording a video.)
  4. can record a video with 30 frames per second.
  5. can record sounds in good quality or at least can be connected to a microphone.
  6. can be connected to a PC so that I can copy/paste my recorded files to my computer.
  7. can record video with less vibrates (have some anti-vibrate or things like that)
  8. can take a photo with manual flashing and automatic flashing (both)
  9. small and has a good shape that I can hold it for a long time in my hand and in bad conditions
  10. good optical zoom (at least 3.5x)
  11. long-life battery and more than 1.7 GB memory.
  12. big display

I need the cheapest but good one.

"Sorry for my bad English" if you can't understand what I wrote, Just tell me. maybe I can understand you by more definitions.

I would suggest getting a professional video camera that does stills shots, rather than a DSLR that takes video . . . the specifications that you mention sound like a lot is needed - and that means a lot of money to be spent.

Regards,
Denise

Yeah it sounds like video is more important.

I agree, sounds like you need a camcorder rather than an dslr, as they're designed to do video work. A dslr however, is designed for taking stills though many have video capability as a second string to their bow.

Most DSLRs with video recording capability should be able to do most of the stuff you mention.

The Canon 1100D coming out in a week or two is a 12MP camera with video which can shoot at 30fps. DSLRs don't usually autofocus in video mode so manual focusing is a given. Not sure whether you can plug in a microphone, I know you can on the 5D mkII.
DSLRs don't have the same anti-shake systems that home video cameras do but some lenses have an Image Stabilisation feature, though it's not as aggressive as the video stabilisation I have on my video camera.

The optical zoom is a feature of the lens you attach to the camera, not the camera itself, so it will depend on what kind of lens, the maximum zoom ratio you'll get is 10x (on a 50-500mm lens) but this isn't recomended without a tripod support.

You can plug it into your computer. Memory is dependent on the card you fit in the camera but you can get 16gb 32gb & 64gb cards

No, the right one is a 5D MkII, but it's bigger & 4 times the price of an 1100D.

The 1100D will be around £400 or £450 with a basic lens. Check out www.camerapricebuster.co.uk for latest UK prices.

but you really need to go & look at some to see how you like them. You will also be able to compare features.

If it's mainly video you are after you will probably be better getting a video camera, you'd get a good one for £450.

whoa! I am not that crazy to spend £1,750.00 for a camera!
I'll buy the 1100D or the 1000D...I should think about them more and I'll finally buy 1 of them.

thanks guy!.

EDIT: Guys, I found out that the 1000D can't record video! so the 1100D is the right one, then. (very good price with everything that I need from a SLR!)
