450D or Rebel?

I'm stepping up to a DSLR after 25 years with various holiday snaps camera point-and-shoot compacts. I'm leaning towards a Canon EOS450D which is within my budget, plus I can share the Canon lenses of wealthier family members. But, where to buy? I see on eBay lots of offers for the US version "Rebel" at a similar price to the 450D but with extra lenses. Why haven't I seen the Rebel advertised in UK Photomags? Is it a good buy, should I be wary ie warranty, service etc?
Any adv[I]ce gratefully received.

They're both 'Rebels'.

Rebel = 300D
Rebel XT = 350D
Rebel XTi = 400D
Rebel XS = 1000D
Rebel XSi = 450D
Rebel T1i = 500D

As ap4a has said its the same camera just the Rebel is the nane used for the American market.
DONT buy a canon Rebel if you live in the UK as you will have a problem with warrantys.
I have a 450 they say its an entry level camera its far from that.
I also like yourself have only just moved to a DSLR after 24 years its a different world, you will enjoy it.
Best Wishes
Robster
