I just upload some photos. I am new in this site.
I just want to know, how can I participate to POTY? The simple fact I upload photos , does it mean what? If I enter in POTY , they said , I didn't put any photos on the contest. Can you explain to me how the things are working in this site?

Hello Diana, welcome to the site.
The POTY contest is normally launched in May and runs until August each year. The photos won't be displayed there now as the competition is not open yet. The photos that are currently displayed there are from the 2010 competition.

Also, if you upload photos to your photo gallery on the Photo Radar site (this one), they will not automatically be entered into the POTY competition. However, there is an option on the POTY site that if you enter a photo there in one of the competition categories, it can be shown in your photo gallery on Photo Radar (this site). POTY is organised by Digital Camera magazine and Photo Radar is Digital Camera magazine's website.

It's all a bit confusing, but I hope this helps.

Hi Diana,

POTY 2011 has not yet been launched, so your photos will not currently be included in any contest.

When the POTY 2011 contest is unveiled later in the year, you will have option to tick a box in your PhotoRadar gallery to enter your photos into the POTY competition. There is no set amount for how many photos you must enter, but there is usually an upper limit to the amount you can.

Stay tuned for when POTY 2011 will be unveiled.

Call me impatient, but the POTY 2011 website states that the competition is open from 14/03/2011 .... here I am, photos at the ready at 10am (GMT) and..... nothing.

When does the competition open?
