I have Tamron 90mm Di macro, it usually does very well in the magazine reviews you get from time to time.

Best budget macro lens is a topic that comes up again and again.

For really cheap, the Sigma 50mm f/2.8 is hard to beat. For a longer focal lengths, you hit the Tamron 90mm, Canon 100mm and Sigma 105mm. The Tamron is the one I'd buy - it's cheaper than the Canon and almost as sharp and it's sharper, better built, handles better and cheaper than the Sigma 105mm.

Easy.

Edit: of course, I'd actually want the MP-E 65mm...

yeah the MP-E 65mm is a cracking lens, manual focus only, goes up to 5x life size, but very difficult to use, you need a great deal of patience & a very stable camera platform to use it well.
