Frankly friends it dose not matter what you have in your kit bag! It's the mind behind the camera. Altough I find DSLRs can give a bit of arty farty flexability, such as off camera flash shots and so on most of the other stuff can be done in photo shop

These other photographers having more expensive camera gear than you means only one thing with certainty, that's that their gear is more expensive than yours. It does NOT mean that they are better photographers than you are, it does NOT mean that they are more knowledgeable than you are, and it certainly does NOT mean that you are inferior in any way. You have the equipment that either your finances allow you to to buy, or that you feel is suited to your skills and needs at the present time. Get out there with it, and start enjoying it, and using it for what it is designed for.....taking photos, and not hiding it in your bag.
