Was down on the canal and, despite it being the spot to see Water Voles, I just knew we wouldn't see one. Well, a macro lens I now know not to be the best of lenses to get a Water Vole even if it is only a few feet away!

But more often than not these days I'm pretty relaxed about missed animals, birds, sunsets, etc. Another will be along sometime and it gives me the opportunity to enjoy the moment for not trying to capture it with my camera!

Good question! Possibly when I had a peacock in my back garden. Wish I had a good quality camera at that moment

You can't beat a proper camera but mobile phones are becoming worthwhing a worthwhile backup camera and most people don't leave home without one, and always keep it within arms reach.

I came home from a night out on Saturday, and on walking home, the moon was HUGE. I passed a tree and the moon sat perfectly between to of the branches, lighting up the tree and there was one of those perfect cloud shapes covering part of the moon too. It was like something from a wareworlf novel or movie. It was absolutely stunning and I had no camera!
