I use my Nikon 105mm F2.8 VR macro in autofocus most of the time. The limiter switch is helpful when you fit a converter/extender to the lens. I've used both the 1.4 and 2x converter on mine with great results.

I dont understand F3.5................this is where I loose the plot .Isnt that a really shallow depth of field?

Yes, but dof is relative to the distance from your subject. The further away from your subject that you are then you will get a greater dof than close up.

LOL I didnt even see that switch DD I have used manual alot, anyway thanks for telling me it was there. ( only had it a year and a half lol
