Some Water Droplets

I've spent Saturday & Sunday shooting sports so I thought I'd chill out down my shed with some water droplets. One flashgun on the droplet, one on the background.

The first one is just plain water with a yellow paper background. The next 3 is water coloured red with food colouring.

Great work :-) You're getting quite a collection of these now.

Cracking shots Cathus and love the second best. It looks like a world spinning on a pinhead. The only distractions is the side of the water container behind the image.

thanks folks,

OB, know what you mean re the dish, I tried a glass dish at first but it was rubbish, I need to find something I can fill to the brim, I also probably need a more stable platform as the whole setup is on an upturned carboard box perched on a directors chair in my shed, not the best setup.

Out of interest I have sold 3 similar shots to an organisation which promotes the study of physics to young people, they are licensing the shots for use on their literature & bursary awards. If I sell 3 more I'll have paid for the equipment I use to take the shots!

Well done on selling them. I just would not have the patience to dabble in water drop photography but love seeing the work others have done with them.

Simply stunning and I love water photography but have not managed to get a shot this sharp.

The first is my favorite but they are all amazing!

if you don't mind me asking what sort of shutter speeds did you achieve to get those shots?

These are great. I took some but the rim was not only visible but much more in focus. I followed advice on settings but think I need to use a wider app to blur the rim. What app did you use.
