Very cute! Lovely bit of soft focus.

Have you tried any blemish removal techniques?

I was going to look at the 'blemishes', but i figured once i got started it would never end. Where did you figure needed it please.

She is cute. 14yrs old and been obese since she was 6mths. The softest, laziest cat in the world but amazing with kids

There's either some dust or the tip of a whisker on the black of her head, along with some dirt / fluff on the carpet. It's a bit perfectionist, but I guess the idea is to remove any distractions from what it is you're trying to show in your shot

Yep your right. Just going to let the wife know about the dirt/fluff problem. Expect to find a horses head on your pillow tomorrow ;-)

Will go and have another look

Very nice, Andrew! The composition is great and nice use of a shallow depth of field to throw the potential distractions in the background out of focus.

Its like having two private tutors in here. Thanks for the help chaps.

I had taken some portrait shots of my wife but they were such a disaster i was made to destroy them. For some reason i really am struggling with them. I know households arent the best for lighting but mine are abysmal.

Will have to spend this week reading up on portrait photography and see if there are some hints/tips
