Deleting some, but not all.

Is there any way, I can delete photographs from my gallery without deleting the same pictures in a thread?

I have several 'befores and afters' in the critique thread, and the same photos are, of course, in my gallery. To the casual visitor, it now looks af if I keep uploading the same photos over and over. Can I delete them from my gallery, without ending up with a 'red cross' in the thread? And if so, how do I go about it?

And a different thing. Several people manage to quote several different other people in one reply. How do you do that? I always end up placing several replies, where one, quoting several people, would do.

Reinardina.

I think you will loose the images in the thread if you delete in the gallery - has always happen that way for me. You could have a album named earlier shots and pop them into it - you may need to adjust the link code in the thread to do it successfully but not sure. I am sure someone will know.

Re quotes "+ next to quote box will get you to multiple quotes (bottom right one in in each posting area)

Thanks Andy, I'll definitely use the 'multiple quote' thingy in the future.

For the time being, I'll leave all my double ohotographs in my gallery. At least till someone can explain how to remove one lot, without losing the other.
I'm probably not the only one who follows the critique forum (without commenting), just to see and learn, and that's why I don't want to remove the 'befores.' (Yet.)

Hi Reinardina

The problem is that the images that are displayed in the thread are not saved, but shown as a visible link if you like, usually to save data storage/usage. The pictures are hosted in your gallery, if you wanted to remove them from the gallery but keep them in the thread, you would have to host them somewhere else online and use the new link to replace the old ones in the thread!
Hope this makes sense
Jonny

Makes perfect sense; I'll keep my double images in my gallery for the time being.
Thanks for the explanation.

Reinardina.
