sorry Jinky this is my way of keeping the comp in the members eye, to try to entice members to join in. If we post now and again members might see the thread and realise it a good idea to join in.

I don't know where the guide is. I assume it's a sticky that hasn't stuck. It might be blindingly obvious for most how to do all that is required but don't forget the digital simpletons like me. Tags and links are still new to me. I just want to speak English or French at a pinch and I may just get the full implications of pressing this or that command. Don't assume anything. I probably will not understand, unless the totally boring detail is spelt out. I have just about learnt how to upload an image.

For me the main appeal is twofold. Working a brief is always interesting and is a good discipline if and when I ever take my photgraphy more seriously. I also like the tight timeframe as it forces me to think about how to take and process the photo as efficiently as possible. Ialso think the shorter the timeframe the easier it is to get spurred into action.

I used to enter the weekend competition, but I now work all weekend, virtually every weekend so I have very little spare time to during the window of opportunity to now post an entry. It's a shame really, because I loved the challenges, though there were weeks when I found it a real struggle to create anything worthy of entering.

I have to say though that I still look at all the entries that come in each week and I'm usually very impressed by some of them that come in. I also make sure I cast a vote without fail for my favourite each week, though it's rarely an easy decision to make.

I've got some holiday booked in a few weeks time, I'll have to see if I can post an entry during it as a rare treat for you all.

I suppose its the techical aspects of it all.

I am just the same as you no time due to work in my case and entered wondering what I would do if in the unlikely event I won. Against all the odds I did manage to win a couple of times and in my case took time off work to do the poll. If you can't do it I am 100% sure you will get one of our lot to come to your aid.

I found last year I was not taking many photos whether it was because I was busy at home and not getting out, cold wet days. I felt my skills were dwindling, by entering this comp I am now getting to shoot a series of photos every week it also gets me thinking out of the box and as a result gives me new fresh ideas.

The community is fantastic they have always given good constructive feedback and it is great to see the other ideas/approaches based on the theme as well as seeing other improve at an amazing rate.

I do get a lot of out of this although my wife does struggle with some of my ideas.

Yeah, It's a good job that they know that we are slightly mad isn't it.
