I would add that even with the VAT & import I made a big saving. I bought a Sigma 50-500 a few years ago & saved over £200 on the UK price & it was with me in 36 hours from the time I ordered.

Off topic slightly, but how do you rate the Sigma 50-500 lens Cathus? I was looking at these, and couldn't decide between it and the canon L series telephotos that are similarly priced

I've been an avid fan of Digitalrev for a while now, however its because Kai Wong (chief product reviewer) is hilarious in his video reviews and not due to their low prices. I almost bought my 550D from them, but it was the VAT and Duty charges I was a little concerned about.

Has anyone used Hdew Cameras at all? Are they also a "grey" importer?

Jonny,

it's a good lens, as with most super telephotos, can be a little soft at the 500mm range.

Is very heavy, a day at an airshow without a monopod & you know about it.

It needs lots of light

I bought it for the extra reach at airshows though I already had a 100-400L & it did good work. This was on my old 20D though, since I got my 5D MkII two years ago the lens has not been out of the case & I'll probably sell it, not because it is not good but because I have other lenses now & don't use it.
