Smile Available and electric light outdoors

Almost always, especially when using manual focus lenses I pre-focus and look for shots that fall within a pre-determined DoF... how many others are using this technique?

I use this technique so I can concentrate on finding the scene I want to shoot and compose for and I have the camera set up most always to spot meter so I can control the exposure without having to worry about focus as well in what may be just a fleeting moment.

I don't prefocus Jim. To be honest I just set my ISO and change my aperture and shutter speed as I go along and also switch between auto and manual focus as I go along. I do like this, I think the light behind her draws you in. I like her watching and waiting for the bus too,. You did well not to undexpose her, the light at the back could have easily tricked the meter.
