Frequency

I'm building a remote setup for my D300.
I've got the Infra red break-beam sensor built and am building a small radio transmitter to send a signal to my Hahnel reciever. A signal generator will go between the two but I need to know what signal to send, does anyone have an idea?
Many thanks

the chances are it's gonna be a digital pulse the carrier frequency should be easy enough to find though

i looked into a diy infra red trigger a while ago and the easiest ( cheapest ) option i could come up with is to use a shutter release cable with a relay to act as a switch obviously controlled by the infra red trigger
the lengh of cable could easily be 10 metres which i think would be more than enough after all the idea is so you can get up close in the first place
well that was my idea any way...

Yes, the frequency of these things is listed on many ads and I'm building a small transmitter to do that. The Infra red trigger will switch on a "pulse generator" (((????))) but its that pulse which I'm having problems with.
