How To Thread

Can we have a 'how to' thread....as at the moment I don't know how to do anything on this site such as post a link to my photos, or even how to put my photos into a thread...I have asked for advice previously and although 36 people have looked noone has been able to help. This can include any advice on how to do anything....

Many thanks

nicolaann

Hi nicolann,

This is something we're working on at the moment and we'll post it soon.

In the meantime I'm sorry your question hasn't been answered - I've been out of the office and am looking through the forum posts this morning to answer any unresolved questions I can - it might be quicker however if you tell me what the problem you're having is?

If you want to post a link to your photos then you need to highlight some text in your post, and then click the link button (a small globe with a chain link at the bottom) and type the web address where your pictures are stored.

To post an image in the forum, click on the image button (a yellow button with a landscape in).

Hope that helps,

Many thanks,

Amy

Hi nicolaann,

If you want to post simply a link, such as this, then highlight the text and click the world icon to include a link.

So if you wanted to link to your gallery, highlight the word "gallery" and then press the link button. Copy and paste the link from your gallery into this box.

To post a picture from your gallery, you need the url of the image. At the moment this can be found by right clicking on the magnifying glass near your picture and clicking copy image location. Then when you click on the postcard icon above this is the url you will need for the image to appear.

To add a signature to your posts, click on "settings" at the top of the forums and then "edit signature" on the left hand side.

Hope that helps,

Amy

Nicola,

It would appear that the link you are posting is the image you are trying to post.

If you just want to post a link to your gallery then you need to grab the url from the image gallery, not a specific image. Like so: Nicola's Gallery.

To post a picture from your gallery, you need the url of the image. At the moment this can be found by right clicking on the magnifying glass near your picture and clicking copy image location. Then when you click on the postcard icon above this is the url you will need for the image to appear.

For your signature, in the blank box you need to type whatever it is you want to appear as your signature. For instance "Visit my gallery, here" or whatever you want this to be.

Thanks,

Amy
