I know you have to have advertising to make the site pay but the animation in the side column makes the page almost unreadable as it distracts the eye this is aggravated by the contrast between the page background and the advert

Resize your browser window, so it covers less width.

You will need to scroll right to read the adverts, but it's not too much of an imposition

I found that when I right click the Adds I get these options, you may have to do this for each Add and it may depend on your browser but it works for me.

You un tick animation, loop etc and you get a static add.

The image is in my gallery here, sorry you have to copy and past it as html code is off on this site.

EDIT, Just found out the settings don't stay, anyone know if ther is a registry setting for macromedia that will save the changes. If you use firefox you can block them so that's what I've deided to do, after all, its my PC and my choice.

Bob

I fully appreciate the necessity of adverts, but it is a physiological fact that our eyes are more sensitive to movement in the periphery, so trying to read text when there is movement going on just outside our area of interest is not going to get easier with time.

As I said, I have no objections to adverts per se, just I find the animated ones far too distracting.

just IMHO
