Too much animated advertising

Hi,

I find the site too distracting to look at with the amount of advertising in place. The particular annoyance is the banner and mid page animated/video advertising which is way too distracting and in my opinion - makes the site unusable.

Looks pretty slick to me from a quick wander round. Agree with sgn though too much animated stuff going on in eye shot.

It wouldn't stop me from using it but I wouldn't rush here either.

Tried to use the quick reply, didn't work.

Im sorry but thats piffle. Advertising can be done far less intrusively, I run a site with 2000+ users per day and have far less advertising.

The advertising doesn't bother me, you get that on almost every quality website these days.

I think it all looks pretty slick.

wait until the ads that slide out at you come along when you accidentally run the mouse over them, they will be very annoying.

Whats the projected traffic for this site? is this on a dedicated server or running with the other techradar sites?

What is this advertising of which you speak? I use Firefox with Adblock so I never see any.

Then you will be banned.

Read the T&Cs you agreed to when you joined. It's an "offence" to do anything to stop the adverts displaying. Rule 5r since you ask.

About 6 clauses after the one that says you waive your legal rights to sue Future or any of its friends if they defame you. Which is kind of an interesting one.

The defamation clause is in the interest of free speech.

It simply means that if another user defames you, you can't sue Future. Otherwise we'd have to start moderating all the forums and posts BEFORE allowing them to posted up, which I'm sure you'll agree would be rather inconvenient and annoying.

Hope that clears things up there,

Amy
