First engagement Photos

First engagement photo shoot today and it absolutely bucketed it down with rain all day. I could not believe it when I got up this morning :bang:

Anyway have to make do so we went to the hotel where the couple will be married soon and did the best we could. The rain did eventually stop 15 min before we all had to go our separate ways (kids to collect etc)

This is a few of the day

4,5 from the first selection and the very last shot of the second are really great!

I think you've got a really nice selection of shots there.

best for me are the differential focus one & the one with the bridge in the background. I like the last one but there's something about his nose blocking her eye that doesn't quite do it for me.

Ok I cant comment on technical issues I wouldnt know what or how..

However..nice looking couple inasmuch they are very real and plainly in love..one detail really screams at me and that is to watch the brides left hand side when she smiles..theres a whopping great gap where a tooth should be, the right hand side is fine but be aware of the gap on her left hand side maybe she will be doing something about it pronto or maybe you can edit a tooth in..I doubt she would notice if you adjusted the picture and filled in the gap, maybe show her and let her realise it herself and get to the dentist..for me its a must do as that gap for me really spoils her smile..

Other than that nice pictures..nice couple good work

Thanks a lot, I must admit I never noticed that... not sure how I would mention it to be honest. I don't want her paranoid a few weeks before wedding

Oh I am sorry I couldnt help but notice it..forgive me I work with Pro Models and a fair few brides and every detail is scrutinised so that would be something I or the stylist or AD would be expected to pick up on (not that I have ever had this particular issue)..

I do see what you mean by not making her paranoid by mentioning it so maybe just try to shield or edit it out of the pictures she actually see's..It may not bother her one bit but its not a great feature and best not to draw attention to in any pictures..

Please dont feel this is a criticsism of your work it isnt meant like that in any way whatsoever I just feel the bride would be happier if she didnt see a gap in her teeth in her wedding pictures on what is the biggest day of her life..It would bug the hell out of me if it were my wedding pictures..

The chap has a gap too! But I suppose it will be more noticeable on the woman because weddings are the girls' day.
Nice set, although would agree with the comment about the guy's nose getting in the way of his fiancee's eyes. I would also have liked to see one of those kitch photos where he presents her with the ring, as without being told it's an engagement, I would not have guessed it was a special occasion for this couple.

I particularly like number 5 of the first set and the first one of the second; although the latter is an 'arty' shot, I would have had them sitting together on the bench, and chopped three steps off as these seem to detract my eye from focusing on the couple.

Apologies if it sounds a bit harsh!

Regards,
Denise
