Ok so I am trying to read the manual for my camera and frankly the wretched thing is so small and the print is even smaller is it possible that they come in a larger format from somewhere..honestly its just so small and even though my eyes are fine (yes I do wear glasses) this is so small its a chore..

Anyone

Larger physical manuals don't exist, but you can download the PDF version here: http://files.canon-europe.com/files/...HG_EN_Flat.pdf

And perhaps print it off on A4 paper?

Hi Bal,

I had the same problem with my handbook!

Have you thought of buying Canon Rebel T2i/EOS 550D (Expanded Guide) [Paperback] by Andy Stansfield? It is half price on Amazon UK at the moment [£7.50]. I bought his guide to my camera and am finding it so much better than the manual that came from Canon.

Another thing you could try is seeing if you can find the guide online and printing it out yourself. That would be OK for reading at home but would be very large to carry around as a quick reference

I rarely look at my manual now and tend to use the Andy Stansfield book. However I am probably a bad example as I learn best with trying things out and practise rather than through manuals. My memory is abysmal and I forget

I have found this book very informative.

Amazon link here:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Canon-EOS-Re...ref=pd_sim_b_2

You can preview the first 29 pages as a taster, as well as the index pages to give you an idea of everything that's covered.
Click on the image of the book to see the preview (from the Amazon link above).

Thank you all very much..the little book that came with the 550D is so concise and so crammed with information that it needs to be twice the size IMO...the most impossible part is the opening sections with the diagrams of the camera body and with dozens of little headings telling you what something is and with little lines running to the bit itself on the camera..its like a labyrynth and frankly I have given up trying to fathom it out..I can barely see them anyway let alone seperate them..I think a letter to Canon will be drawn up..its absurd.

I am so relieved its not just me that has trouble reading the manual..I thought I might just be whimping out..

Thanks for all your suggestions I will look into them

The best thing about these "3rd Party" guide books is that they're less biased than the manufacturers - though I shouldn't think they could actually say any features were useless or give direct criticism. I have to assume that the manufacturers have some kind of control over what's written about their cameras. They also explain some of the "WHY" and "WHEN" questions while the manual covers the "WHAT" and "HOW".
