Thanks guys, I have another quandary, IS or not IS. I use a tripod while shooting so I can rest my hands ( I get cramp with the mono pod ) advice in the manual says when using a tripod turn IS of, but is that just when shooting static subjects. The fact that I'm panning and zooming quite a lot would I be safer with the IS on. I turned it of this week and I think the images are a little softer, but I'm still messing with camera settings as well.

I missed a corker of a shot because I went to get my long suffering wife a cup of tea at half time, I returned with the tea to see the forward running down the wing with the ball , turning back and teasing the other other team that were chasing him by offering the ball back as he dashed across the line

One from Saturday's game, Currie 43 Watsonians 15, the guys are doing well.

I'm using image stabilization in active mode and it works well
