I like this, Alan. There is a lot of stuff going on to keep up the interest. The reflection of the man sitting down makes the whole scene feel anomalous.

The picture works well with the title for sure!
The background behind the guy on the right of the picture is preventing him from standing out clearly.

Strangely enough though, if you crop the top inch off your (or mine at least) seems to be more drawn left to right across the picture and he seems to stand out a bit more - wierd.

Well spotted!
Phil

Hi Alan

It's an interesting shot but if I may say, for me the picture I'm drawn too is the the bottom right 2/3rds of the image. The two people and the 'clutter' on the left don't do anything for me.

Have you tried that crop - so that you lose everything left of the wall and everything above it?

I'd be interested to hear what you think.

Thanks for looking folks.

Drew,

After spotting the two characters (standing and sitting) I thought that was perhaps a picture on its own, but decided it was a little lacking in interest and would be just another street picture with no story attached so it needed some thing to add to the overall scheme of things and the two on the right came into view in some sort of a hurry.

Not being in the most salubrious part of Waterloo a story came into my mind of, dealer, minder plus the customers and the run down city location where it all happened.

It was just one shot, I didn't stay around long enough to see if it was true!!

It was my first day out in anger with a compact and I think I shall be using it quite a lot in the coming months now that I can see what can be done with it and what possibilities it offers.
