Beauty Shots Appropriate lens

I am just wondering if somone could reccomend which of the Canon lenses would be suitable for beauty shots i.e close up shots of the face.. I have just read a review of the EF 85mm f/1.2l 11 USM which seemed ideal but at £1600+ thats a tad steep.

Have you considered the Canon EF 24-70mm f2.8 L USM Lens instead. I have the Nikon version and it's ideal for portraits.

Does it have to be a Canon lens? The Sigma 85mm f/1.4 is very well regarded and is about 1/3 the cost of the 85L.

Well I suppose I was sticking to Canon so if there was an issue Canon couldnt turn round and blame the problem on the lens from another manufacturer..if its all Canon then they can sort ot out was my thinking..

Wink

have you considered purchasing a pre-owned lens? most shops offer a limited warrenty with the lens, worth considering since the cost of new seems steep, also worth considering pre-owned if you may not use this lens often.
