Hi,

I am from Malaysia and am an avid member of digital camera since the last two competitions. I would like to take part in your projects but I feel that I dont know how to fit in. Actually I am a juniour member and very interested in photography since I was 15. I am still grappling with digital photography as I am from the old school of film. I thoroughly enjoy taking part in your digital photography of the year competition each year.

There's a little gallery of some of the photos from my project here if anyone's interested:

In Pictures: Cardiff Arcades

I think it's a classic example of how things can suddenly take off if you somehow manage to tap into something, and for me it's been quite bewildering!

Please do drop us emails with your own projects though, maybe we can put a gallery together of the best ones!

Really impressive shots, Amy :-) You've done really well especially as its something you've not done much of before.

Great project Amy. I haven't been down the arcades for years and certainly not with my camera. You have some great shots there.

Thankyou for the kind comments The project just keeps growing and growing - which is great for everybody.

Popped along yesterday to find another temporary art exhibition in one of the shops and had a lovely chat with one of the artists!

Anyway, they've said they are trying to arrange it so I can access the site with a council project manager so its looking up! :-) They said I need my own safety gear but I have the helmet, hi-viz vest and boots from doing the photography on a construction site last year.

Well done Karen. Remember if you don't ask...

Just been reading your piece about the email from the PR company etc etc. I can imagine it would send you into a panic; it sounds a bit heavy handed to say the least. Glad it worked out well in the end, and refreshing to see John Lewis regard it as a free advert.

Don't do what I say next, but my reaction would have been for them to prove the information I published was incorrect. As to the reference to the private email, most emails carry this in their footer, but it would be impossible to uphold in court, as once something is published on or via the web it's in the public domain. This is why you are warned not to put personal details on the web. If it had been encrypted and only viewable by you, then that may be different, but it needs testing in open court.

Keep up the good work and well done for the piece in the local newspaper. I'm sure if you asked people if you could take their photo most would be happy to accede whereas, for us old males they might think we are funny people!

Thanks and yes you were right :-) So with that in mind I've asked my husband to buy me a brand new Hassleblad H4D with 60mp sensor. He hasn't got back to me yet ;-)

Yes, but you have to ask him more than once!
