Question Chat - BROKEN w/e comp 14th - 16th January

BROKEN!

Give your imagination free rein with this theme. I'm looking for an image with a strong emotional connection that ideally tells a story.

The word can be interpreted how you like: it might be something quite literal like a broken bottle, watch, toy, or piece of machinery or a broken record; or it may be something deeper like a broken promise, a broken spirit, or a broken heart.

No Post Processing restrictions.

Photo to be taken Friday, Saturday, or Sunday and posted by 1200 GMT on Monday in the ENTRIES thread.

Nice one Drew - I`ll do a self portrait as I feel pretty broken at this time after op
I`m sure you are on it but don`t forget to post an entry thread sometime today so that early shooters can put it in tomorrow. That said most come in Sunday and Monday.

Good theme. Loads of scope. And maybe some fun with a hammer . . .

Thanks for the heads up on the time scale. Perhaps when the rules are re-written/agreed on we can include times sclaes for these various phases of the comp for those that follow.

Oh, and are you allowed to enter a comp you have set the theme for?

Drew

Yes you are free to enter when you set the theme.
There is a rules thread discussion that just needs a few of us to agree to where things are prettyy much laid down with one addition to go in here:
http://www.photoradar.com/forums/sho...?t=1735&page=2

I note Mark has started a thread about moving to more basic image entries.
http://www.photoradar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4305

I`d suggest with the high interest levels and involvement currently we need to agree way forward and confrim which appraoch is taken. I say go with the rules Cutter managed to retrieve with assistance from Lurkalot and just add the suggestion about winner being able to make restrictions when wishing to for my two pennorth

I agree Paul, restrictions should be identified - ie.' no cropping or compilations' etc; will show what was in the original frame in relation to original composition in the viewfinder.

Will see how time goes as I enjoy the challenge and its a good topic again this weekend.

I would agree - no restrictions being the default comp setting, with any restriction to be specified by comp 'setter' should they so desire.
