so they say. I have found some holiday accommodaton in Tenerife that's only £75 a week, private barn conversion, private pool, rural location ....£75 a week. Would you be suspicious?

Dunno really because if its a rural area it will be cheaper than being slap bang in the middle of a popular resort. I'd check on how private the pool is because it may mean private between you and the resident owner. We drove to Spain last year and got a 4 bedroom villa with private pool in La Nucia. It was 5miles from Benidorm, in June, and we only paid £179 a week for it as it was late availability, so it might be someone just wants to have their accomodation booked. Be careful of scams though, some people put fake ads, collect the money and the property never exists or if it does exist it does not belong to them.

It could be OK but Google the name and see what comes up. Also, when paying for it makes sure it's by credit card, as anything over a £100 is protected by the Consumer Credit Act whereby, your contract is both with the seller and credit card company. Any problems you get your money back from the credit card company.

Thanks you guys. I think I will book it, but like you say it will be by credit card,and its through a quite reputable site that I have used before..Its gona be so remote that even the sheep find theres nothing to do. Great photography oportunities I bet!!!!

Did you check Tripadvisor or any similar sites to see whether there is any visitor feedback on that particular accommodation or any comments in Tripadvisor's Tenerife forum?

I would think the flight would cost more than that before the holiday. Mind you, at this time of year you might get cheap accommodation what with the economic situation being what it is. I use tripadvisor, but not every review is valuable in determining the conditions of a holiday. We recently returned from Kefalonia, staying at Sami. Both resort and Hotel were under rated by many who had stayed there, but we found it to be a little piece of heaven to be honest. The old saying, "you pay your money and you take your choice" always applies, so if it turns out well it is a bargain, and if it turns out to be crap, that's what you have paid for.

Just make sure the barn has been cleared of its previous occupants, they could have been pigs!! lol

HAHA, have searched for reviews on this property, but not found,but its privately owned, the site is ownersdirect, quite reputable so Im maybe worrying for nothing. Its just that I have never seen anywhere that cheap before! With flights, car hire and accomodation for 2 weeks, its under £800!

Correct however make sure you use a card that you have taken out and not a card on someone elses account such as a husabnd, partner etc card companies have been backing out of this by saying it will only cover purchases made by the original card applicant.
