Worn glasses most of my life - I just use them with the viewfinder, without too much problem. The diopter setting on the camera isn't sufficient to correct my eyesight, so I don't have much choice really!

You can also buy diopter eyepieces like this if there isn't one on the camera. http://www.warehouseexpress.com/buy-...75-80/p1009200

Just check that the one needed fits your camera.
Thanks OldBoy, I don't have any trouble focusing with my Canon 450D diopter, it's just that I've been looking through it without glasses then putting specs back on to review the image. I've got an eye-shaped eyepiece but that keeps me too far away from the camera to properly see the image and the information beneath. I doubt the round eyepiece would be any different.
Thanks anyway.

Eye piece

Thanks for all your sympathy and advice guys. I'm so glad I asked, otherwise I would never have known that there were options out there. I've just received my new Canon EP-EX15II Eyepiece. I looked at the Nikon ones suggested and searched from there. I have to say I'm very happy with it. So for all of those people in the same boat, I can definitely recommend it.
Cheers.
