Hello Forum Members

Just registered, reading with interest and learning.

Not a photographer by the wildest strech of the imagination but have just bought the Canon 550D which seems to have had a good opening response..going to see a colleague who I work with to get me started and ensure I understand the basics of what I am doing. He is a fashion photographer who I work with regularly so I feel I'm in good hands..On the upside I am a professional MUA (Make Up Artist) actually I'm an assistant to a big MUA so I do the work and dont get the glory but at least I can prepare my own models..

Found my way here via PhotoPlus Magazine which I have found very informative..

No questions as yet but I am sure I will have..

Just stopping by and saying hello

Bal

Hi Bal and welcome.

You'll find this a very friendly forum and there are plenty of experienced photographers willing to help with any queries you may have. Equally, with your make up skills you may well find that you can advise those on the forum who are interested in fashion photography.

Best regards

Bump

Hello Mr.Bump,

Thanks for the welcome..I know 'B' all about cameras and photography so its going to be a steep learning curve..some of the posts I have read here have left me totally fuddled but I'll learn..

Always happy to help with any questions people may have preparing models for the lens if, that is anyone has any questions..Make Up, Hair etc..well versed in both, catwalk and studio holds no fear for me..love it in fact..

Thanks again for the welcome

Bal

Hi Bal,

You will enjoy it on here. I have learnt a lot already and although it can seem a little daunting when you see the caliber of some of the photography everyone is very helpful. There are a few of us who are complete beginners.
It looks as if you will be able to give us all some tips as well

Hello Kentlass..

Thank you for the welcome..yes it is all a bit daunting but I learned a long time ago to read the manual and not try to run before I could walk..I fall into the complete beginner catagory so I wont be posting pictures anytime soon..

Thanks again..

Hi Bal and welcome to the forums. Don't feel daunted by the scale of what you think there is to learn about. Just relax, start with the basics and get a firm handle on those before you move on to the next step. We all have to start somewhere, but if there's anything you're not sure of then just post the question on here and one of us will either give you the answer or point you in the direction of a good article you can read that will explain everything.

You can start by looking at this website as it is full of useful guides to help you master every conceivable technique you might need. Most of all though, enjoy it!

Hi Balenciaga - you'll thrive, what's important is having a good eye.
