Have you tried Google maps (or is it Google earth?) to get an overview to see how remote it is?

Good idea, will do that now. It's not the remoteness that bothers me, remote is bliss. Its the accommodaion itself thats bothering me. £75 a week is an amazing price. Is it a converted shed rsather than barn!! haha

My experience of trip advisor is that is pretty useless. The main reason for this is what those of us who worked in statistics call a 'self selecting sample'. Those who are unhappy will make reports in a ratio of at least 5:1 to those who are satisfied, and also there is a lot of s****ing. (apprently you can't say s p o o f i n g - will someone please deal with this stupid American profanity checker?)

We regularly used a hotel in La Pineda that Trip Advisor unequivically said was awful, but it was actually excellent. For a change last year we went to the one that Trip Advisor said was the best. It was poor to average if you were feeling generous, but most importantly was significantly inferior to the one they rated as poor. The 'poor' hotel had three pristine pools, water slides, waterfalls; Cava cocktails for breakfast; excellent cuisine based on country themes; bigger rooms, first rate entertainment most evenings, the parking was cheaper, but most important of all a bottle of more than reasonable house wine cost only €6 at the bar!

The 'good' hotel had one overcrowded murky pool without enough sunbeds, dull unchanging unappetising menus, smaller rooms, low calibre entertainment and expensive drinks.

So, in conclusion I might use a rating site to establish if a place existed, but the rating itself is not going to be worth reading.
