Yeah have a go Amy - been liking your food shots.

I feared I would not be out and about shooting this weekend but think I should be able to a natural light food shot without any problem and always good to have an excuse to cook something different.

Yes, I had noticed that your flickr stream is rather dominated by comestibles of one sort or another
I think it's only somewhat dominated - I take a lot of other shots too, just food is *probably* my favourite. I haven't shot any in 2011 yet though =)

Thanks Jinky - probably one of the reasons I like it a lot too, and I find you can be more creative because you're in control of everything in the shot, and can experiment with different colours and set ups too.

Probably end up not getting a chance to cook now after all this....

Hi Mark, I'm just wondering. Are there any restrictions for this weeks competition?

Thanks for that Mark. I hope others will keep the editing down otherwise its not comparing like with like. Some of us newbies haven't got editing facilities nor the know how yet.

I doubt there will be much editing with food shots - clean and simple is often the best.
I forget where I put my props Amy so must get a cupboard. My wife can never believe it when we are in town or passing through a junky shop and say "Ooh that might come in handy for a shot" I`ve got toy tanks, railway model people, slinky, toy guns etc - but can never find them when I want one!

Well it started because I bought a lot of props when I was on holiday in France, food equipment, plates etc, are just so much cheaper there.

I've also got a lot of other things like background papers and materials that I needed to keep somewhere.

Funnily enough, my props cupboard ended up being in the bathroom though - we have a huge airing cupboard in there and it was just sitting empty, far more space than is needed for a few towels, sheets etc, so it became my props cupboard.

When it gets a bit full though we're lucky enough to have a storage facility in the basement of our flat building - I keep meaning to get some shelves to put in there to turn into a much more organised space, and then I'd probably keep them all in there...

My "studio" is the most amusing thing - an ironing board next to the window

Looks like a tough comp with you and your props coupbards. I have a crisp box with the sides cut out and tracing paper all around, Yep a manmade light box, it works, and it was cheap
