somethings wrong

Hey guys,
Just joined here today and I hope you can help.
I got a Pentax Kx from santa this Christmas.
But after being out today and taking lots of photos of a frozen river near Ayr, I have noticed some of the images have been spliced and halved on the PC. I think it might due to a dodgy SD card as the same kind of thing happened a while ago to my young sons camera.
Is there any decent recovery programs out there you can reccomend?

Here's hoping....

Cheers,
Col.

I've used PhotoRescue before and it was pretty good at recovering lost images (I removed the memory card while the camera was still turned on).

Good luck!

Might be worth changing the memory card. I either use Kingston or SanDisk and never had an issue with either (apart from the user induced loss of images). SanDisk are really cheap if you show around - try Amazon, I picked an 8 Gb up for my wife's compact for about a tenner

That's a very nice present col, you must have been exceptionally good all year

I thought I'd just mention that Sandisk Extreme cards are currently being sold with a free download of 1-year subscription of RescuePRO recovery software. If your budget stretches to an Extreme you might kill two birds with one stone.

Welcome to the forum.

Best regards

Bump

Not sure if it will help with damaged images, but if you have inadvertently deleted images from your cards, try looking up Zero Assumption and/ or pcinspector.de to recover deleted images.

Zero assumption recovery is all you need and it's free for image recovery.
