Looks like my ignore list could grow then?

If it is him, should we show pity? Must be a difficult life being that mixed up...

It'll make a change if anyone comments on my pics.

He might be banned now but I don't think he has been banned under his original account.
Funny thing is when I first joined DC Mag he was okay when he visited my Gallery and it was only later that he started getting a bit annoying the more he was pulled up by other members, he had a thing about having the last word and just took it too far.

I expect what I'm about to say will cause a bit of a stir but I think it needs to be said.

The offence perpetrated by the person in question in the past was an alledged fiddling of the star rating system that existed on the old DCM site. Why anyone would take the trouble to do such a thing, was, and still is a mystery to me.

I'm not a fan of the person in question, as I've intimated in an earlier post, however all I can see that he has done since the inception of Pradar is to speak his mind and comment harshly on images that do not appeal to him. In some eyes that maybe construed as rude or offensive. Like the first post in this thread.

I've had many disagreements with him in the past and there is no malice on my part and I can be equally rude and offensive in return.

Before the old chestnut of "I can take criticism as long as it's constructive" raises it's head, I think that a little 'spikey comment' can be productive and wake people up to take a closer look at their work. It certainly does for me.

So perhaps GRsbak has done us a favour in this instance by reminding us that there are people out there that look at the Pradar forum and get the impression that he has formed. Pity he has to be banned for saying so though.

As a an only occasional user of the DCMag gallery and non user here I never really had much to do with or problems with Gil - although he seems to be able to wind up others in a manner only bettered by his female counterpart who seemed to disappear at around the same time. If he was'nt actually banned then the comment posted here does'nt seem enough to ban him now - surely ignoring it would have been the thing to do. Have to disagree a bit with Alan - I quite liked a lot of his pictures - we all have different tastes and there's room for all.

Well said.

I hear what Abers is saying and I must admit to being slightly stirred especially the bit about taking criticism, I guess he is subscribing to the "short sharp shock treatment", personally I feel that more people with potential will be put off by this approach and really I don't see the need for this if someone is genuinly trying hard to improve, maybe if someone is very arogant and condescending about other peoples work and there images are fundamentally flawed then just maybe there is a place for this but something that I would be extremely careful with.

Forums to me tend to get moulded by the types of people that frequent it and naturally friendships will form I don't see anything wrong with that, I have to say the more human/friendly approach of this forum along with good quality images and good knowledge of the subject matter is what attracted me to subscribe. Some of the other forums were a bit OTT/Anal about the subject so I simply did not join.

Well thats my opinion for what it's worth

To be honest, if any of you had been on the receiving end of one of GR's Private mails, you'd know why he's banned. I'm sure Marcus would agree with that.

I also think some of his images were very good. Just a shame he had to stir things up on the forums and gallery comments.

The fact remains that he was banned under his original account, it was blocked and he was informed that he was no longer welcome in the forum.

Creating another username, or indeed creating multiple usernames, is against our terms and conditions and breaches that ban, hence why the second (and third, fourth, fifth, ad infinitum) user accounts will be banned.

And yes, I agree with Lurkalot if you saw some of his private messages you'd have a better idea of why we had to ban him
