Huh? This is the off-topic section. There is lots of help to be had (and given) in the other forums. Off-topic does kind of cover anything other than photography (and occasionally photography!).

Do not give up, take a look around. A few of the very helpful regulars are on holiday at the moment, but you will see their posts.

so why did you register? Could you not see what the forums contained without registering?

Hmm! I don't usually reply to posts like this, but I can't help wondering who you feel would be the ideal person to populate such a diverse and friendly forum? I have never been to a Council run social club before so I couldn't possibly comment on that one; but desperate housewives? Well that's a new one on me. Thank goodness such places like this are full of diverse peoples. It would be a boring place if every post stuck rigidly to the technical photographic speak only brief. The great thing about website forums is no one forces anyone to stick around if they don't like what they see or hear. Hope you find a home that suits your expectations soon.

I am not a very confrontational type but on this occasion I am going to come right out and say it. I think your comment is very rude.
As previously stated you can read the forum posts before registering.

I joined in August but did not return to the site until the beginning of December. I am very much a beginner and am totally in awe of the quality of the photographs and the kindness of the members I have encountered so far.

It was because some of the members were joking around that I felt I could comment in some posts as a way of introducing myself and getting to know people so I will feel comfortable [eventually] that I can ask the really silly questions and get constructive criticism of my photos. It can be very intimidating being the newcomer/beginner and I like the joking, general friendliness of the people on here!

It's pretty much the same as all of the other photography forums that I frequent. Friendly people, a bit of banter and lots of good advice.

I noticed this is your first post - do you always start a conversation with an outburst?

I am also wondering why yo have registered, you haven't asked for any advice, provided any support to anyone, or taken part in any of the member competitions.. And you seem to believe you have a right to be abusive.

Like most things in life, you get out what you put in and you have put nothing of value in yet.

Have you considered the forum may not want you? Or are you too concieted for that?
You haven't even bothered to add a meaningful name....

Phil

I think we are reacting exactly as this person wants..I suggest no one else adds anything to this post..........In fact, does anyone recognise a previous member not around anymore who may have had a username GR.....as GR is back.....Start another thread for ideas, like I say, the less we say on this one the better.
