Post Deleting Galleries, etc....

I have decided to "spring clean" my galleries. In other words, I have been going through my various galleries to see what I should keep and what I should delete, as photo's that I thought were cracking at the time now seem a bit lack luster.

My only gripe about doing this is that it all seems so slow and laborious

Each time I delete a shot in an album, I get taken back to the homepage. I then have to click on "my photos", then "view all galleries", then click on the gallery I want to sort through and go through the whole process again

Also I have a couple albums that are obsolete...ie I have one the is titled "Wales Trip" which contains holiday snaps and which I now feel is pointless on this type of site. Is there a way to delete whole albums?

Please tell me there is a quicker way that I am missing, otherwise I reckon I'm gonna be here until next Christmas......

I haven't found a quicker way and I too wanted to delete pictures and complete albums. Had to do them one by one and, as you say, had to go back to my gallery time and time again. Till I got fed up and left them.
Hope there is a quicker way and if there isn't, this should be the first technical inprovement to the site in the new year. (Better still, straight away!)

yeah..I am thinking this is the only way. I am not going to bother now. I just set up an account on Flickr and what a difference. You can batch edit photos and upload multiple photos. Maybe Photoradar should adopt the same set-up.

That said I am still going to use this site for the forums and uploading to the Competitions, but as far as uploading to my galleries is concerned, I'm gonna jump ship on that respect.

Until something is done about the cumbersome upload and edit system anyway

Yes as you found that`s the only way to delete - shot by shot.
I was so annoyed at the cumbersome nature of the site that I took all my shots off one after the other and only use my gallery now to put in my weekend comp shots and link to larger lickable pics through that. As you say Flickr shows a much better way of organising and getting comments etc than can ever be the case on here Shame really as in old days it was quite good.

As I've said before, this site wasn't built for photographers.

Try middle clicking on the delete link (or the link for opening an image), or ctrl + clicking, or however your browser is set up to open a link in a new tab. Then you don't have to go through the full process from start to finish for each one.

If you go to your gallery, scroll to the bottom to click where it says "see all (your) photos", all your photos come up as thumbnails and under each one is the word "delete". Click on that and it asks you to confirm. It then says it is "deleted" and you can go onto the next one. When you next go to your gallery the photo is no longer there.

I had seen the 'delete' possibility under the picture, but never used it. Always did it the laborious way.
Thanks for pointing this out!

@ OB. Well, the intension was there, it hasn't quite worked out though has it. To be honest the site build never got finished from what I can see. Shame really.

Half the forum navigation (that's needed) has been switched off, some that haven't been disabled you can't find because they haven't been added to the main site menus.

And the two softwares, (Main site and Forum) still haven't been integrated properly, hence the two user profiles etc. I think the software they are using is the main problem, it's limited in what it can do, and without modding it heavily it will remain the same.

(sure I've said this all before).

Maybe in 2011 we'll see them having a rethink. (hopefully).

I doubt it. Don't think they are interested in making the site work as it should. It was a rushed job with lack of detailed plans.
