I don't do much post editing other than pushing vibrance and sharpening. and an occasional clone someone out of the scene, but I too am saving the notes and look forward to trying some of these options... Thanks again..jp

This thread seems to have gone dormant. That's a shame. I'm sure we've all got tweeks that we use regularly and could help others.
How's this:
In PS go to Image/Adjustments/Levels. Then select the 3 primary colours in turn fom the drop-down menu. In each move the sliders to the beginning and the end of the histogram (you'll usually find a section of white either side of the histogram). Don't worry about what it's doing to your image until you've done all 3 colours. Select OK and look at your image which will now be much more vibrant. You may have to go back and tweek the odd colour, but I often find this does the lot.
