I picked up two Lexar Platnium II 8GB SDHC class 6 cards yesterday for $20 CDN (about £12.95 at today's rate) each.

Well, Christmas day was a mix of highs and lows... My faithful friend of the last 6 years has become my backup body in the depths of the Lowepro backpack. My 300D has been upgraded to a Canon 50D - which was definitely the high of Christmas for me, I can't believe the difference between the two, loads more resolution, noise is soooooo much less/better, Live View - think I might get to like that even if only as a final composition checker (I seem to have developed the ability to look through a viewfinder wonky), RAW+jpg, Mono jpg in camera with colour RAW, 6.5 frames per sec - loving that. So many new features, I might have to read the manual. Nah, I am a bloke after all

Cheers
Andy

I got a copy of Joe McNallys Hot Shoe Diaries. Excellent book for those interested in flash photography.

Well I have the tightest family in the western world so I dont boither asking for anything..seriously a bar (1) of soap is considered a spend up by them so I buy my own stuff and write "To Me From Me"..it makes me laugh and there is nothing to be gained by pointing out just how miserly my lot are..

So I bought myself a 550D Bundle with the 17-55mm lens, a Canon grip, spare battery, and a few odds and sods.

Had a nice quiet day, couldnt drive due to an accident with my hand requiring surgery 4 days before the Big day so that got me out of the fun at home with the Family Von Miser and I had a great time..The only letdown being that I couldn't pull a cracker but that was a small price to pay..

I received Tom Ang - The Complete Photographer from the In-Laws - its a nice book with some good assignments to help you get through it......

I think any more goodies will have to wait until my bonus.....
