Exactly, @ Lurkalot. If you do split the content, you split the community. Not everyone likes Facebook, so it goes without saying that not everyone on this forum will join the FB network. FB and Twitter and all the social media that are de rigeur at the moment, should be in addition to, and not in place of, the PR pages.

But what do I know, I have only been in publishihg for 25 years . . .

The cost of an internet enabled mobile 'phone here in France is exorbitant. Close to €700 a year for the cheapest contract that actually includes some internet air time. So I haven't got one, and I won't get one until that cost is reduced by at least 2/3rds.

But if I did have one I would be using Opera Mobile and I certainly wouldn't be looking at Farcebook. Personal privacy is far to precious a thing to be entrusted to sneaky nerd like Zuckerberg.
