I really like the second one. Nice colours and the lighthouse looks like it is on the third so it is compositionally more pleasing.

So much to think about and take on board. Thanks for that..It's a lot harder than I had thought. Im hoping that now I have my tripod (come xmas day) and my remore shutter release, Im hoping to see a big improvement.

I hope you don't mind but here is my take on the crop of the photo. In the first take I really liked the contrast between the tranquility and islolation of the lighthouse and presence of the workers on the beach. I also likes the mood of the sky, I really think it lost a lot of the mood when you cropped it.
