Am thinking of upgrading from a fz30 to the new fz100 does anyone have any views on this please.

The FZ100 is a much more advanced camera, with a much wider lens, much more zoom, much higher fps, better lcd and less weight.
Its image quality in comparison to some of the competition is somewhat of a mixed bag.
You could try it and see how you like it, or take a look at Fuji's HS10, which has an even wider lens an more zoom than the FZ100, same fps and costs even less.
