What insurance companies are you using or do you recomend. I think its time I had some cover on my kit.

They look good, £5000 of cover for £101 PA, all risk new for old and public liability not bad at all.

Thanks Jerry.

I got my kit insured through my household insurance which, for an extra £12 a year, covers me for up to £4K against theft, damage and other mishaps anywhere in the world. I would certainly recommend checking out what you're home/contents insurers might offer

I also have cover through my house insurance. It costs me a good deal less than £105 extra pa for £10k cover for camera kit and other personal possessions outside the home. This includes travel insurance.

I got an add-on to my house insurance (kwikfit) that covers me for gadgets including my mobile phones, camera etc and it has a lower excess of £25 if i need to claim.

I used to have E&L insurance - but I found that every time you add something they charge about £30 admin. I would also recommend searching the net for them too!

I now use Aaduki - similar price, better cover, no admin on additions.

I did enquire on my household insurance, but they wouldn't cover the value I have. Plus I think there as a problem if you become "professional" - ie get paid for anything!

I use Photoguard and Iv just had to amend my policy to include a few bits and remove a body I sold and it cost me £15.00
It was very easy to do as well
