It looks very sharp and has plenty of detail. What lens is it?

Hey Mark, that's pretty much a classic Nuthatch pose. But I still want to know what lens?

cheers for the replies

to put you out of your misery it's a canon 300mm F4 L ( non is ) 1996 vintage
the optics are still imaculate and there's a bit of a scuff on the hood apart from that it looks well kept
first impressions looks like it's still performing well

once iv'e got used to it i will know more

great shot, nice & sharp, great detail in the feathers & nice bokeh.

I'd be tempted to make it into a square format though, that broken branch bottom right keeps taking my eye from the bird

Cracking shot of the Nuthatch. I have the Nikon version of 300mm F4 and it can give cracking shots as well.
