Getting On.

With only one post short of a century, is it okay to post a 'non post,' just to reach the elevated state of 'Senior Member'?

Yes. It is more than warranted.

I hit 2000 posts the other day. Made me realise I ought to get on with some work!

Okay, go ahead, congratulate me.

You can stop counting; once you're a senior, you stay a senior, no matter how many vaulable contributions you offer the forums.

I still think, there should be some sort of distinction between seniors who just gathered a hundred posts, and those who really have achieved something in photography. Maybe someone who has had a photograph (or two, or three) as POTD? Or shortlisted in the POTY competiton?

They could be 'Seniors with a Star,' in which case you could even have star ratings for the stars, or they could get a different name: 'Senior with Distincion'?

If we could edit the member status tag - mine would probably be Still Learning (and I hope I never stop ) Nice idea though Reinardina, I look forward to my Gold Star .

A member of another site that I use saw a post that I had made here and my senior member status and thought that I was one of the movers and shakers here. Lol

I'm still stuck at basics; haven't even mastered all the possibilities of my camera.
Haven't got to grips with Elements either! Finally found a 'Photo Elements' beginner's course, starting in January.

Just think how much you are going to learn and how much you will improve, Try the comps , its only fun, and you learn as you go along. it would be great to see an entry from you

Steady on Cutter! All in good time (at my age). I've only just 'discovered' the critique forum and now you want me to enter the comps as well! Have never really looked at them, but as I am getting into participating with various things on the site, I'll wander over and have a look.
