The right white? Too many brances?

I took this picture when we had lovely snow recently (all gone now), but I'm not quite sure whether it 'works.' Is it just a mass of branches (which it is of course) or does it look okay? The longer I look at it the more I think it's okay, but when I first saw it, I rejected it. First impressions etc. Was I right?
Also, is the strip of snow behind the shrubbery in the foreground too blindingly white?

This is the first time I try to post a photo in a forum; why do I get a link, rather than a photo? Where did I go wrong?

I don't think there are too many branches, in fact they make for quite a nice shot. I'd brighten the snow up a little but otherwise its a great snow photograph :-) You need to put codes in front of and behind the image url to get it to show in the forum. You can find the codes here :

Another attempt.

Thanks Karen! I see what I can do about the snow.

Just realised I clicked the wrong symbol, the one for 'insert link.' How stupid can you get! Now that I have clicked the right one for 'insert image,' all seems well.

Yes as karen says I would brighten the snow up a bit more, and there seems to be a brown spot dead center of the picture that keeps taking my eye. I guess you could clone it out. Still a lovely picture non the less, well done

Nothing wrong with that picture. Love the heavy snow on the branches. The patch in the middle could be brown leaves still on the tree which haven't got snow on them. My guess is it was cloudy or part of the scene was in shadow, which results in the path been brighter than the rest. A slight tweak in curves would bring the best out of the picture.

You should never delete a picture that you don't like until a few weeks have past. The reason I say this is because on occasions I have taken a picture and on first checking on the PC It wasn't what I wanted to capture, so was tempted to delete due to disappointment. Instead I left it for a month or so, then went back and look at it again and relized it was a cracking shot, just not what I was trying to get at the time.

Thanks for your help and positive words so far. OldBoy is spot on: the brown mark is formed by some leaves visible through the snow. Or maybe the snow was disturbed by a bird or something.
I don't delete many pictures, I tend to keep far too many!
I have tried to remove the brown spot and also slightly brightened the snow. Is it any better this way, or should I keep it 'natural,' brown leavevs and all?

You could change it to B&W image and increase the contrast a bit, but I still think it looks great as it is.
