Backing off the blacks, 50mm natural light

Nice image Jim, just enough light on the rhs to show the facial features. I like it.

Have you invested in your black velvet yet? The shadows seem 'smoother' in this one than some of your others (is 'smoother' the right word?!).

The portrait is well lit and well conceived and the eyes, as in any portrait should be and are in this instance sharp. The 'softness' of the facial features are a little disconcerting in a young man with such a strong face and features.
